OUR OUTDOOR DECK

This is an overall view of our deck. We put this in about two years ago. Long overdue but grateful we have it now. Enjoy eating and just sitting outside and enjoying the birds and the beauty of our backyard. We are blessed.

Found this old maple wood table along side of road covered with old tires forsale. Set in the rain for a couple weeks before I stopped and asked if he wanted to sell the table. He said quickly YES! I was excited for it was in good shape . Offered him 30.00 and he wanted 35. I said yes for I knew it was worth much more then that. Brought it home , sanded and gave it a bri-wax stain. Came out nicely. Love OLD!

I sanded the base and painted and stenciled the rooster.

Grand Daughters Allegash Trip-and Jr-Sr. Prom night

Bailey- Her pack weighs half again as much as she does. Her allegash Canoe Trip starting this wednesday until next Tuesday. She is a Seventh Grader . The Seventh and Eight Grade kids are eligible for this annual trip. You have to write an essay and be interviewed. They prepare you weeks ahead for this trip . Its quite an experience. Only 20 are selected. She told her mother "have the heating pad ready when I get back". We had a to laugh at that.

Recent Student of the month for her Sophmore class. Abby was also recently inducted into the Nationl Honor Society and is a member of the Varsity Soft Ball Team and Indoor Track.

Breanna and Zach. Both Seniors . Breanna is going on to school at Husson to become a Pediatric Nurse. Zach is attending Maine Maritine College. They are a couple.

Breanna and Emily. Very close sisters! Emily is a Sophomore.
Emily was recently inducted into the Nation Honor Society and is a member of the Track Team and Field Hockey Team . Breanna is also on the Track Team and Field Hockey Team. She was Captain of her Field Hockey Team this year.

FIX OR REPAIR and NO not a FORD

Had a partial hysterectomy in Jan. and last Thursday had Cataract surgery. Hopefully this is it. I told my husband when we age we are just like cars that have age on them. Fix the problem, run for awhile and ------ find out there is another. One good thing about this my hubby likes what I like to call vintage instead of old, (much softer term) Hangs on to everything! I always complained to him about hanging onto every little thing BUT I guess its a good trait! Age comes to most of us (hopefully), we just need a little sense of humor to go along with it. Painting Class

Thought I would put the picture of my painting on to show the stage I am in now. My friend Birgit and I have been to the painting class twice and this is how far we both got. Not quite finished. Its amazing how it comes to life so quickly. Lots and lots of detail goes into it but moves along quickly. Next week a new project is starting and it is a beautiful folk art piece. Looks complicated but with our instructor right beside us I`m sure we`ll get through it. Fun!

Busy Things Ahead!

I am busy getting ready for opening up my shop in May. Lots of shopping,primping and details to take care of so as to be ready. Been making dolls but not nearly fast enough. They take so long to put together into something special. I am biting off more then I can chew as the saying goes for with a friend of mine I have started taking painting classes. I never knew what details that go into creating a simple picture. It is turning out to be not only a learning tool but FUN! The people we gather with on Monday mornings are very nice and fun to be with. Will post my first painted picture when finished. Its amazing what you accomplish in just two classes. Then in May I have jury duty. UGH!! Put it off for three different times but I guess now I will have to pay my dues. Also have a wedding celebration of my grandson and wife who were married last year in N.C. and now want to come home to Maine and have a celebration with all family there. Wanted to help in some way so am making the ring bearers pillow and was asked if I would decorate the arbor. It`s an outdoor celebration in a beautiful field setting. It should be easy to come up with ideas to decorate. I have a few in mind. My shop LIzziesRaggs Primitives will open May 6 and 7 with a Spring Open House. After that I will be open T-F-Sat. 10-4. Call ahead other days and if home will open shop. Think Spring!!

The Warmth of Night

This was taken from my bedroom window late at night. I was going to bed when I saw a chance to capture a warm reminder of a good ole fashion snowstorm we just had in Maine. It just made me feel cozy and secure from the elements. I had already landed in bed and thought I would take the picture the next night but on second thought realized it probably would be too late for the snow on the sill would be gone. So I got up put on the lights went out and got a match came back in and lit the kerosene lantern. I just loved how it made me feel. My hubby was wondering what the heck was I doing. Taking a picture I said. Oh yea, of course, its only midnight , perfect time for picture taking. Have to do it when you see a chance for a picture statement, RIGHT?

GOOD DAY FOR CRAFTING!

Here are a couple of new Dolls that I make. Will be sewing up some new things today while inside with all this snow that is coming down. I like snow days when your inside the comfy and warmth of your home. Like doing projects. I do feel bad for those who have to be out in this. My daughter delivers mail and she will have to struggle with the elements, also my husband and son run an oil business and today there was an emergency call so my husband is delivering them oil and sarting their furnace. I know he is a good driver but still worry when this happens. I also worry about my daughter. She is leveled headed so probably will not get all the mail delivered if it gets too bad. We sure are getting are share of winter here in Maine! Good for some and bad for others.

Susan just stopped at our mail box with delivery. She is out and on the road! She is a tough Mainer- I know she will be okay. (Just had to add this little note)

HAPPY 2011 !!!

This New Year can only be good! That`s how I like to look at it each time it comes. Sometimes life changes that image but then life turns it back around again. My outlook for the new year is to be positive,upbeat,non-complaining or whining as my husband calls it, encouraging, helpful and loving. Nothing new about those things but new to me if I follow through on them all the time. Since I didn`t start on day one I am starting right now on day 3,time 1:00. Wish me luck or start praying for me as you read this for I need all the help I can muster. I love to read blogs and see what people are up to and lots of those blogs do encourage me to be a better person in so many areas like, like, like, well can`t think right now how they do but I do so enjoy reading them! Hope all who read mine will enjoy my ackward sense of humor and not be depressed if they too can`t be perfect. (They have my company).

Christmas At The Jordans 2010

We had a Wonderful Christmas this year with almost our whole family present. We didn`t have our North Carolina families here but my hubby and I went down there 12 days before Christmas. We left by car and visited our nephew and family in Va. then on to my sister and family in Burlington, N.C. and then to our daughter and family in Pinehurst,N.C. Our Grandson, Ben and his wife and our new Great Grandson live in Fayevetteville, N.C. so we had Christmas with them at our daughters place in Pinehurst. It was a special time seeing our grandkids and our Great Gandson and spending Christmas with them and their families, "A Special Moment In Time" I guess you could say. We arrived home three days before Christmas Day. I has most things done before we left for our trip so it left only little details to look after so as to be ready for Christmas Eve and Day here in Maine.
